定格动画的历史可以追溯到19世纪末,那时计算机生成动画(CGI)技术还不存在,定格动画技术被用于在早期电影中创造独特的视觉效果。
The history of stop motion animation goes back to as early as the late nineteenth century when computer-generated animation (CGI) techniques did not yet exist, stop motion animation techniques were used to create unique visual effects in early movies.

Nowadays, there are a lot of animated movies that use high-tech CGI techniques to produce animated movies that we all love and enjoy. However, we do not need to know all of these complex techniques to get a glimpse into how animations work. All we need is a camera -as well as a little bit of creativity- and we can create our own stop motion animations.

During this summer workshop, we will learn the basic principles of stop motion animation, and we will complete four animated projects. We will try different methods such as "cut-out animation" and "claymation." These projects will include complex but fun tasks such as creating mini movie sets and puppets to animate.

每日概要/Summary
第1天:我们将使用剪纸动画技术创建2D定格动画。第一个项目将使我们了解定格动画的基本原理。
Day 1: We will create 2D stop motion using paper cut-out animation technique. This first project will allow us to understand the basic principles of stop motion animation.
第2天和第3天:我们将使用黏土制作3D定格动画。此技术也称为黏土动画。
Day 2&3: We will create 3D stop motion animations using clay. This technique is also known as claymation.
第4天和第5天:我们将设计一个电影场景并拍摄自己的动画短片,练习我们在本次课程中学到的所有不同的技术。
Day 4&5: We will design a movie set and shoot our own animated short movie, practicing all the different techniques that we have learned during this workshop.
